Valley Outreach Synagogue (vosla.org) is an independent Reform congregation that offers a unique experience of Judaism. Known widely for its creativity and exceptional music, Valley Outreach Synagogue’s Shabbat and holiday services are highlights in the calendars of its members, drawing hundreds to the synagogue for Shabbat and more than a thousand congregants to annual High Holiday services.
Founded in 1986 by Rabbi Richard Schachet, Rabbi Jerry Fisher, Musical Director Jack Bielan and a small group of dedicated members, VOS has become the spiritual home for families and individuals with varying experiences of synagogue and religious life. The synagogue’s philosophy and financial policies ensure that anyone wishing to join in prayer and study is warmly welcomed.
Valley Outreach Synagogue meets on the second Friday of each month in the sanctuary of Kirk O' the Valley, 19620 Vanowen Street in Reseda. Services begin promptly at 8:00 p.m. followed by an Oneg Shabbat. Occasionally, services do occur on Friday evenings other than the second of the month. Family services commence at 7:30. Therefore please call the synagogue office or check The Outreach to verify dates and times.
